Location: The cabins sit on a quiet state route that is well maintained. They are approximately 3 miles north of State Route 50 on State Route 356 in rural Vinton County. Athens and Ohio University are about 14 miles to the east. The Appalachian Highway ( Rts 32 and 50) is about 6 miles away.
Amenities: Both Cabins include: kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, utensils and cookware, dishcloths and towels, dish soap and drying rack. A few seasonings are provided (salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cinnamon and cooking spray). Sheets, comforters and bath towels are provided along with shower gel, hand soap, one roll of paper towel, 3 rolls of toilet paper and trash bags. Each cabin is equipped with a TV and DVD player. There is no TV reception. The cellular reception seems to be good. There is no Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is available at the Lodge at Lake Hope State Park. There is a fire ring for campfires. Firewood is provided. Please do not bring firewood from outside of the area to prevent spread of damaging insects and disease. You may want to bring newspaper and gather kindling to start your fire. A charcoal grill is provided but guests need to bring charcoal. The Redtail The Redtail is equipped with two queen size futons with quality innerspring mattresses. They are both located in the main living area to accommodate 4 people. The Bobcat The Bobcat is equipped with a loft with two full size beds, a small loft with one single bed and a queen size sofa bed. The bed space allows for a maximum of seven people. A note for folks with limited mobility: Unfortunately at this time you must be able to climb one set of stair to enter the cabins. |
